Max Prantl
Painter, poet and mystic
'Dear brothers and dear sisters of all people, and you, entities of the spiritual world,
resist the hatred that darkens your hearts,
resist the desires of revenge,
resist each and every constraint.
Do
not any longer allow fear in yourself,
be it of living or of unearthy powers.
Separate the sphere of your souls from all that tries to rule you by lies and intimidation.
Close your minds for all that tries to dazzle you by allurement and threat.
Open your hearts to your own divine will and to the infinite Love of God.
Dare to be like me, wake up like me to freedom from fear, to infinite love and freedom, wake up like me to the Truth, to be Eternal Suns in Gods world.
I, Michael, someone like you, a child of the infinite Love just like you, am radiating my power of transformation upon you.
To the devilsfigures of hatred, greed and revenge I am destructive power.
To them that live as devils I am paralysation and death.
To you, light people and beings, I am infinite Love as the power of transformation to freedom.’

You should not revere me, you should love me, if you yourself want it. Do not call me 'Lord', call me 'You'. I want you to be on a par with me, if you yourself want it. Talking to others about me, you should call me 'It'. You should not revere anybody or anything. You should not bow to anything or anybody. You just should love, because you yourself want it'.
The new order on earth, the gradual formation of the millenial empire of Christ on earth must involve all areas of life. Because of the separating differences of mind everyone, from the ripe spiritual to the simpliest mind, must have the opportunity to choose and devote himself - in a certain field, compatible with his being - with glowing conviction to the divine order of life on earth. Everybody will do so according to his personal character and level of spiritual evolution, by serving the new social and spiritual order'.
I
want a catholic church. But what since many centuries till now has pretended
to be 'the' catholic church, is a hostile anti-spiritual, anti-divine, long
solidified framework of power, a sheer earthly structure, representing the catholicism
and by nice as well as less nice means trying to assert it in the world - only
because of its own, very earthly meant power'.
Whoever says of himself: 'I am a free, independent, divine being, an image of God, a child of God with all properties of our Origin' may either have grasped the inmost truth or lives in the darkest blindness. If with this 'I AM' he means his earthly person, his 'lower self' with its desires, drives and inclinations, with its in all worldly errors entangled thinking, feeling and desiring - falsely called 'will' - then of course he is to be pitied. But if with this 'I AM' he means the inmost mystery of his earthly and spiritual personality, the centre of his heart, then he has entered the utmost knowledge and speaks the truth'.

These are just some quotations of the austrian mystic Max Prantl, about whom a reviewer of arts, Gottfried Hohenauer, once wrote: Even if one would not know the painter Max Prantl to be the author of the book 'Der Mensch ohne Angst' ('Man without fear'), then the paintings would immediately reveal that this artist belongs to a world that lies behind and beyond the objects'. After his death Prantl, who lived to be 44 years old, left a workmanship consisting of several paintings and books, of which Licht aus der Herzmitte. Der Mensch ohne Angst (english: Light from the heart. Man without fear') is to be considered his main work. In this book he describes an abundance of inner experiences during his spiritual development. During his lifetime his work was boycotted as much as possible, because he spoke of things the established social (and especially the clerical) order did not like at all. This is why his work has become almost forgotten and almost nobody even recalls the name Max Prantl. Miraculously, a last trace of his work came to the Netherlands, where now his books and paintings have been translated and published.
Max Prantl. Born 1912 in Innsbruck, Austria, deceased there 1957.
To
gardens I 'll carry you on roses-grown slopes,
besmiled by the Godhead to a miraculous dress,
born from timidity, desire, refuse and urge,
It weaves a new world from a transient past.
I
'll carry you away to foreign-like shores
and to the heart of the blue transforming power,
surrounded by clouds and flashes of suns,
up to the premonition of night becoming morning light.
To
the summit I 'll carry you, wooed by the light of seas,
pulled away to the timeless beyond matter and space.
Never their red-coloured tops die with the long-passed day,
never faith dies, upward grows its dream.
From
dreams I 'll carry you and from world-lost sorrows
to hidden goblets, glowing with golden tide
and flowering for spirits, hesitating
to storm the earth-lost fervor of their heights.
I
will carry you to these utter heights,
proudly enlighted by an incomprehensible light,
to even more proud remoteness, shattered by a still morning
breeze of
unnameble radiance
On this website we try to lift the spell of oblivion on Max Prantl. His books, paintings and poems will be mentioned. Also a short overview of his life and mission will be highlighted, as will the mystical and religious backgrounds.
The site you are viewing now has not been finished yet, because it still is under development, the main reason being that up till now only some english translations have come available. His main work 'The Shining Heart' has been translated into English and is available, and one of his smaller books ('Blooming roses - spiritual signposts to our earthly en eternal home') has just been released. Many items will in time be added, as has been done on the dutch and german version of this website. It is our hope and target that all of his books will become available in the english language. In the dutch language the complete works of Prantl have now been translated and published: Het stralende hart (A description of mystical experiences), Onbegrepen licht (die Evangelien und die Offenbarung des Johannes in der Sprache der neuen Zeit), 'Kerstrozen' (Märchen, Mythen, Erzählungen und Bilder) and 'Astrologie' (als Tiefenpsychologie und Seelen-Heilkunde').
